Big Dawg Volume Two is highlighted (for me at least) by I'll Be Around by Rah Sun & Big Pun. DJ Ev didn't put out a ton of tapes and admittedly I don't know a lot about him. His best known tape is Hotter This Year 96.

I apologize for slowing up a bit with the posts. Life has been hectic while gearing up for the holidays. DJ Camilo is another one of my favorite DJ's and Tape 12 is packed with 1995 Hip Hop gold. Tracks like I Love You Remix, Death Be The Penalty & Danger are a few of the many classics that fill this tracklist.

Here is my own rip of Cutmaster C's It's So Hot Baby. I think it's clearer than what's been floating around. In the upcoming weeks I will be going through my box of tapes and ripping them. The goal is to try and provide better quality rips for existing tapes and I may post some things that have never been ripped in the past. Stay tuned.

This one features an early unmixed version of Biggie's My Downfall. I don't think the cover has been widely shared so I took a picture of my tape in case anyone needed the cover. Over the next few days I will try to provide a better rip of this tape for you guys.

Cutmaster C is primarily known for his hip hop tapes. This R&B joint is from 2000 and is loaded with great tracks.

Some early Clue tapes! Plenty of Blends. In the beginning Scarecrow & Big Splash were frequent contributors on many of his tapes.
(I removed the background noise on all 3 of these.)

This shit right here is one of the craziest mixtapes ever. You had 5 top notch DJ's join forces to create this masterpiece. You get everything on here. Hip Hop, Freestyles & R&B mixed masterfully by some of the best in the game.
-MJ-
One of the more common tapes you'll see me post but this one holds a special place in my heart. I bought mixtapes prior to this but this was the one the got me hooked. I can't even estimate the amount of times I have listened to this tape. Pure Golden Age New York hip hop at it's finest.

Another great mixtape DJ out of Queens. DJ Absolut started as an intern for Stress magazine. He now puts in work as a producer. Someone out there asked for more R&B. Here is one for you.

Gone Too Soon!!!
Black Rob should've had a larger career than he had. He suffered through addiction, health issues and homelessness. Unfortunately the hip hop community lost Black Rob on April 17 2021.

Okay, so here's another great one by Mister Cee.
Not many DJ's have the longevity that Calvin LeBrun did. He also had the respect of other DJ's from Flex, Kay Slay, Clue, you name it, for the work (pause) he continued to put in throughout his long highly regarded career. As far as a DJ goes he's been the DJ for an artist, the radio, shows, clubs & tons of mixtapes. He set the bar.
R.I.P. Mister Cee

The Brooklyn Finisher Mister Cee provided some the best tapes of era. His legacy is highlighted by The Best Of Biggie tape but he provided us with so much more. He was Big Daddy Kane's deejay after they met early in their careers. The man was a legend. R.I.P. Mister Cee ....and you don't stop.

This is the sequel to yesterday's post. I did not have the opportunity to purchase the cassette when it was released so I am thrilled to have the file. This a great tape though not as good as the first in my opinion.

Special request for my guy Robert. I've said more than enough about Dirty Harry in previous posts so click the link and download this joint.

This is another one that I do not have a cover for. I can't remember where I acquired this nor can I confirm the title is correct. I vividly remember parts 1 & 2 but cannot recall a part 3. The file says the year 2000. There are some unreleased Dirty Harry tapes floating around but I am not sure if this is one of them. If you have more info on it drop a line.
-MJ-
I will upload a cover for this later when I dig my cassette out. Chubby Chub tapes were a must cop for me. He didn't drop as frequently as other DJ's but when he did you were getting a great tape. Da Heat Iz On was one of my favorite at the time. Side A was predominately hip hop and Side B contained R&B. Give it a download and let us know you think.
-MJ-
Another can't miss from Dirty Harry. If nothing else check the Rap Figures tracks on his tapes.

One of the most underrated mixtape DJ's there is. I'd put his body of work up against damn near anybody.

Here's a tape from the legendary Kid Capri. Kid Capri was one of the original tape hustlers. If you know you know.
